When I was growing up, and even as a mom,
we would visit Blue Ridge Shores
In Louisa, Va. for their 4th of July celebration.
It was small town U.S.A.
Water races, watermelon eating contest, three legged races, relay games etc. I have memories of winning some of those races as a kid..and it was one of my favorite places to take my kids.
When we moved to Pa. it was just too far to make it a tradition. Then our move to Florida completely nixed it altogether.
I stumbled across the little town of Geneva, literally right down the road from us.
How could we have lived here for 3 years and not known about this cute little town?
They had a parade... Is this the cutest thing you've ever seen?
Kids on decorated bikes!
You don't get more small town than that!
Adorable
There are really no words...only in America?
I felt a tad bit embarrassed to be there when these
guys drove by..
I thought this was actually cute..Clay is dying for a 4 wheeler..
not gonna happen!
Even airplanes!
I love the marching band!
He stopped to play for a sweet lady in front of us.
sigh..
I love how patriotic everything looks.
so cute
The parade was a solid 30 minutes..
We went inside for cool air and I saw this..
I want one.
They had chickens for sale..
Pet chicken?
They put chickens in a cage and the floor was sectioned into numbers..you won if the chicken pooped on your number...hmm
High class entertainment.
This was a nice unexpected treat...
The lady was so nice and took out the really big snake.
Mikaela wasn't having quite as much fun...
